What we store

If you are a member
Your name, email address and phone number; which shop and plan you joined; your visits and your balance. We do not store your card. Stripe does.
If you run a shop
Your name, email address and phone number; your shop’s name, address and plans; your takings and our fees. Your bank details are held by Stripe, not by us.

Who it is shared with

  • The shop you joined sees the members of that shop. No shop can see another shop’s members.
  • Stripe processes payments and holds card and bank details under its own privacy terms.
  • Our email provider sends receipts and reminders.
  • Nobody else. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not market a member to another shop.

Deleting your account

You can do it yourself, from your own membership page. No email, no waiting, and nobody asking you to explain. Cancel any membership that is still running first, so you keep the month you have paid for.

What we delete: your name, email address and phone number; every membership code in your name and any family members on your plans; any sign-in links still outstanding; and your customer record at Stripe.

What we keep, and why: the payments themselves, which HMRC requires for six years, and the invoices the shop’s accountant may need. Your name is removed from all of it. A shop you left still has a count of the visits it served that month. It needs that to file its accounts, and it no longer points at you.

We do not delete these records outright because the visit balances and the shop’s books are calculated from an append-only log. Removing rows from it would break the accounts of a business that has done nothing wrong. So we remove the person from the record instead of removing the record.

Getting a copy

Email hello@monthlygo.com and we will send you everything we hold about you within a month, which is what the law allows us. There is nothing to pay.

The shop’s own records

They are a separate data controller, not our processor. The notebook behind their till, their own booking system and their phone are theirs. Deleting your Monthlygo account does not reach any of it. Ask them directly, and they have a month to answer too.
